One of the best things about the Cobble Wobble is how loosely we define the term “winning.” Take Tom (I, Slowbot) here, for example. Back in 2012, he conquered the hill with a time of 41.4 seconds—a full 18.3 seconds behind the winner. That’s 80% slower!

But look at him. Just look at him shine. What a hero.

In a world awash with social media feeds promoting unattainable image ideals and endless performance comparisons, it’s nice to see someone dressed in a tin foil-clad cardboard box, pedalling very slowly up the hill as people laugh and cheer.
